As part of our vision to become 50% more efficient, we are constantly exploring new innovations to realize this goal. Synera, an intuitive automation platform specifically designed for engineers, gave us an opportunity. CodePS developed the Moldflow Connector, an add-in to integrate Autodesk Moldflow into Synera.

Mutual influences between application properties and requirements are a challenge for plastic part design:

the process
As developing partner, CodePS designed the Moldflow Connector, an add-on for Synera. Before designing the add-on, we needed to think of how Synera users would make use of Moldflow in their workflows. It became clear that we need functions which allow to create, run and analyze models.
the Moldflow Connector allows to
- Create models from geometries or meshes.
- Modify models, for example material used or process settings.
- Run simulations with different solver settings.
- Post-process simulations to take decisions on part performance.

Challenges designing plastic parts can now be tackled efficiently in Synera. For example, designers can validate filling behavior in an early stage using expert validated workflows. Mechanical engineers can optimize the part for best performance while quickly ensuring producibility. Process engineers can modify design or process parameters to find the best possible filling strategy, all automated and collaboratively.
